The fear of coming out of your shell exists because it is an instinctual response to protect one's own neck. Particularly in a world of scrutiny and deceit where the accuser(satan) rests waiting to pounce. But the shell has to go away eventually, we may think we were meant to be alone but we aren't. It is not, no matter how much it feels like it, a part of our design to function in life alone.

I hate when people manage to recognize my pattern of “when I’m done” as we all put it. At some point at social events, a king jt switch flips and “I’m done”

Well. Everybody loves to come over and sympathize with me about “how done I am” and it’s like… you’ve been able to express in words that you know I don’t want to interact with people anymore so you… come over to me to talk about that? Just… shake my hand or something.
